It is not always easy to come up with a top five or top ten of the best movies, best songs or of anything else. You would usually always send days arguing with your friends over which are the best and why you think this movie or song should not be in your list.

Anyway, the eighties, like the seventies have provided us with great movies and here is my top five of the best movies coming from the eighties.
I would probably put E.T from Steven Spielberg in the first position. This movie from the beginning of the eighties has been watched by millions of people who probably still speak about it. It is a great movie that used special effects wonderfully.
This masterpiece has received many awards like some Oscars, a BAFTA, a Golden Globe just to name some of the most well known.
I think I would put Top Gun in my second place. This film directed by Tony Scott in the middle of the eighties saw some very well known actors like Tom Cruise, Val Kilmer or Meg Ryan play in it. This movie was a great success in the United Stated and around the world.
My third place would go to Dirty Dancing. This movie directed by Emile Ardolino in which you can see a great Patrick Swayze is still the favourite movie of many women around the world. Despite the fact that the director had a very small budget, the film was a worldwide success.
The forth place would go to Beverly Hills Cop. Eddy Murphy is at his best playing a cop from Detroit. The movie was released in the middle of the eighties by Martin Brest. The success of the first movie lead to two others later but those were not as popular as the first one. It was anyway a great piece of action and fun at the same time.
In the fifth place, I would put Back to the Future. This movie released in 1985 and directed by Robert Zemeckis was the beginning of a great trilogy that we have probably all watched. The story of a young man and a crazy scientist going back to the past has fascinated many young people back in the eighties with Michael J Fox playing beautifully his character. A great film in my opinion.

This top five is only my view and I do not think we would all agree on that. Those who like these movies can maybe watch free movies from this list by checking on sites offering free streaming movies to watch legally.

A lot of people like doing a top five or a top ten for movies, television series or even books, so now it is my turn to do it with my top five of the best movies coming from the seventies.
This is only my opinion though and you may not agree with me.

A lot of people would consider the seventies almost like the golden age of cinema, especially when you think about all the great movies that came out of this decade. This was the beginning of some great film directors and some others were already well in the game. The seventies make us think of some great names like Francis Ford Coppola, Steven Spielberg or Georges Lucas.
We all love it when we can see once again on TV one of these old movies from the seventies.

I would probably put Saturday Night Fever in the first spot. This movie was released at the end of the seventies and shows an amazing John Travolta on the dance floor with a great sound track from the Bee Gees. It is not really what we would call a comedy but I always laugh when I see how they dressed back then. This great movie was directed by John Badham by the way.
I would probably put Close Encounter of the third type in the second position. This movie directed by Steven Spielberg was also from the end of the seventies and is just one of the greatest science fiction movies of all times. It is the story of an electrical lineman whose life changes one evening when he encounters unidentified lights in the sky.
My third choice would be for Star Wars. I think this movie, alongside the two others could have been anywhere in the top three or all in the first place but that was not possible. This great science fiction movie created by the great Georges Lucas has ended up being one of the most famous franchises of the American history with the final film being released in 2005.
The forth place would go to the Godfather one and two that were released at the beginning of the seventies and directed by Francis Ford Coppola. It is also a very well known trilogy that has entered into history like Star Wars and others.
I would probably put "A clockwork Orange" of Stanley Kubrick in fifth place. This controversial movie from the beginning of the seventies is a depiction of sex and violence well put together.
